About Fitness Etc: Supplement and Fitness Stores Since 2006
Fitness Etc sells supplements, fitness equipment and training gear from four stores in Campbell River, Courtenay, Parksville and Powell River. We started with one small shop in Campbell River in 2006 and have grown into the largest supplement and fitness store on Vancouver Island, with a fourth store in Powell River serving the qathet region.
How Fitness Etc Started in Campbell River
Owner Chad Braithwaite opened the first Fitness Etc store in Campbell River in December 2006. The original store was about 700 sq ft. About two years later it moved into a larger 1,100 sq ft space. On October 22, 2013, Chad bought a 4,500 sq ft building, and the Campbell River store moved into it. Managed by Zac Frizzell, the Campbell River store serves Campbell River, Willow Point, Quadra Island and Black Creek.
Growing to Courtenay, Parksville and Powell River
Our Courtenay store opened as the first Fitness Etc franchise and serves the Comox Valley, including Courtenay, Comox and Cumberland. On October 1, 2011, Chad became sole owner of the Courtenay store. It is managed by Brett Barabash, a certified fitness trainer who has completed a nutrition program.
Our Parksville store is an independently owned and operated franchise location run by owner-operator Nick Bowman, who is ISSA and Precision Nutrition certified. The Parksville store serves Parksville, Qualicum Beach and Nanoose Bay, and along with supplements and fitness equipment it offers fitness equipment repair and installation.
Powell River is our newest location, at 111-7035 Barnet Street. It brings Fitness Etc to the qathet region, serving Powell River, Lund and Texada Island.
